So let’s get real.

Instagram is an incredible platform for many reasons, however it truly is the highlight reel of people’s lives…. filled with designer bags that cost as much as your car note, seeing people on their luxury vacations while you are sitting in dead stop traffic on Melrose while your boss calls you 87 times, or seeing people getting engaged on a yacht as you just left your 12th bumble date of the week with a 40 year old who lives with his parents and “forgot his wallet. “ I myself, love to post beautiful photos and videos of events, trips etc…. but I also try my best to keep it as real as possible and connect authentically with my community. That’s why I wanted “get real” with you guys and let you in on my everyday struggles.

I, like most, have things I struggle with every day. Constantly comparing myself to others, worrying I won’t find my true love, letting fear dictate parts of my life, etc… I have allowed self-doubt to paralyze me at times.

I would talk myself out of my goals and dreams because for some reason that seemed easier than taking a risk or stepping outside of my comfort zone. I still have a long way to go…. but I have done so much work on these parts of my life and am so proud of how far I have come.

However, just like staying in a workout plan to remain fit, I have to constantly condition my mind to not fall back into negative patterns. This usually consists of me reading something that feeds my mind and soul, or listening to podcasts. I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you so maybe some of these can impact your life the way they did mine.

This book is one of my all-time favorites. Not only does this just hit the spot, but the way Jen Sincero writes this book has you laughing out loud as the light bulbs are going off in your brain, and you truly feel like you are talking with your best friend.

This book was one of the first books I picked up when I wanted to make a change in my life. It gave me so many tools to help me start taking tiny steps to change how I looked at my life and how I reacted to situations.

This book is one of the most impactful things I have read. When some of the most influential people In the world like Tony Robbins and Warren Buffet say this book changed the path of their lives…. you know your ass better read this book ASAP.

This podcast is a must. The guests that he brings on Are some of the most inspiring people in the world, and the stories they tell are not only motivating but help put so much of your life in perspective. One of my all-time favorite episodes is with Lisa Nichols. There is no way you can listen to her story and not have full-body chills.

The RISE podcast is on constant repeat for me. Rachel Hollis is not only absolutely hysterical, but she is about as real as it gets. She talks about all of the things that women want to talk about but is scared to talk about. She is so inspiring, relatable, motivating, and you feel so connected with her at the end of every episode. She has also written two incredible books. “Girl Stop Apologizing” and “ Girl Wash Your Face”.
